ANTANDROS KAZISI

Troas kenti olan Antandros, Kuzeybatı Anadolu’da, Edremit Körfezinin kuzeyinde, İda
Dağının eteklerine konumlanmıştır. Aiolis ve Mysia bölgelerinden Troas’a giden yolu
kontrol eden geopolitik bir öneme sahiptir. Antandros, Yunan ve Roma mitolojine ait
birçok mitosa ev sahipliği yapmıştır. Bunlardan birisi de Roma’nın kurucusu Aeneas ile
ilişkilidir. 2001 yılında başlayan sistemli kazılar, Antandros’da İ.Ö. geç 8. yüzyıldan İ.S
6. yüzyılın sonuna kadar kesintisiz bir şekilde yerleşildiğini göstermiştir. Kazılar, 2001
yılından beri üç ana sektörde sürdürülmektedir. Yamaç Ev, Nekropolis ve Sur.
Antandrus is located in the ancient Troas Region in Northwest Anatolia, north of Edremit
Bay, at the southern foot of Mount Ida. It has a geopolitical significance in terms of
controlling the path from Aiolis and Mysia to Troas. There are many myths in Greek and
Roman mythology that concern and take place in Antandrus. One of them is about Aeneas
who is the founder of Rome. Systematic excavations starting in 2001 proved that the
settlement area of Antandrus was inhabited continuously from the late 8th century B.C.
until the end of the 6th century A.D. Three main sectors have been excavated continuously
since 2001: Terrace House, Necropolis, and City Wall.
