Bahar KOCAMAN
1961 yılında Edirne’de doğdu. 1983 yılında Mimar Sinan Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi
Yüksek Resim Bölümü’nden mezun oldu. 1985 yılında Mimar Sinan Üniversitesi Resim ve
Heykel Müzesi Resim Restorasyonu Bölümü’nde restoratör olarak göreve başladı. 1998
yılında Mimar Sinan Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi Resim Ana Sanat Dalı’nda Sanatta
Yeterliğini tamamladı. Yurtiçi ve yurtdışındaki çeşitli koleksiyonlarda yapıtları bulunan
sanatçı, 2003-2006 yılları arasında Kocaeli Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi’nde Yardımcı
Doçent olarak çalıştı. Sanatçı, 17 Kişisel sergi açmış, çok sayıda yurt içi ve yurtdışında karma
sergi ve etkinliğe katılmıştır. Halen Beykent Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi Resim
Bölümü’nde Öğretim Üyesi olarak görevine devam eden sanatçı, resim çalışmalarını kendi
atölyesinde sürdürmektedir.

edilmesinden çok, resmetme jestinin tuval sathında bıraktığı izdir ve bu durumda kimi
zaman uzlaşılmış göstergenin eşiğine gelen figür bile hareket yanılsamasını mevcut olmayan
şeye devretmiştir. Dolayısıyla burada durağan ve o defaya mahsus olan görüntü, bakış
süresiyle sınırlı olup, izleyicinin her defasında yeni bir şey keşfetme beklentisini sürekli canlı

She was born in Edirne in 1961. She graduated from Mimar Sinan University Faculty of fine Arts
Department of Advanced Painting. She started working as a restoration artist at the restoration
division of Mimar Sinan University Sculpture and Painting Museum in 1985. The artist attained her
Proficiency in Art degree in the field of art painting from Mimar Sinan University Faculty of Fine
Arts in 1988. She has various works in collections in Turkey and abroad. She worked as an assistant
professor at Kocaeli University Faculty of Fine Arts. The artist has opened 17 personal exhibitions
and participated in many national and international exhibitions, as well. Currently, she is working
as a faculty staff member at Beykent University Faculty of Fine Arts Department of Painting and she
continues her painting work in her own workshop.
In the works of Kocaman, the illusion of movement is the trace of painting gesture on the surface
of toil rather than the reflection of the movement through its cause and in this situation sometimes
even a figure which is on the threshold of an agreed indicator passes the illusion of movement
onto a nonexistent thing. Therefore, here the image which is static and specific to that time only is
limited to the time of glance and keeps the viewer’s expectation of discovering something new alive.
