1988 yılında başlatılmıştır. Klaros’un 4. ve son dönem kazıları Ege Üniversitesi, Arkeoloji
Bölümü Öğretim Üyesi Prof. Dr. Nuran Şahin başkanlığında Temmuz 2001 tarihinde
başlamıştır.
Klaros kutsal alanındaki Apollon tapınağı 6 x 11 sütunlu, Ionia’da inşa edilmiş olan
tek Dor tapınağıdır. Tapınak, M.Ö 3. yüzyıl başında inşa edilmeye başlanmıştır. MÖ 2.
yüzyılın sonlarında, tapınağın krepisi, pronaosu, naosu ve anıtsal kült heykelleri (Leto,

The temple in the holy area with 6 x 11 pillars is the only temple built in Doric style in Ionia.
The construction of the temple started at the beginning of the 3rd century and it is known
that its krepis (stepped base), pronaos, naos and monumental cult statues (Leto, Apollo
and Artemis) were completed in the late 2nd century B.C. 27 meters north of the Apollo
