Claros is one of the rare holy areas discovered in situ with its monumental size cult statutes
as high as 8 meters. Another feature of Claros is that even the krepis (stepped base) of the
temple is inscribed.
Furthermore, Claros Archeopark was inaugurated on September 12, 2011 as the result
of a 14-month project carried out in cooperation with Izmir Development Agency (IZKA).
Replicas of statues and artifacts unearthed during excavations at the ancient site and a
Hekatomb (yüz adet hayvan bağlama bloğu) bir kutsal alanda bulunmuş unik eserdir.
Klaros Kutsal Alanı’nda bulunmuş olan hekatomb bu hayvan ritüelinin ilk arkeolojik
kanıtı olmaktadır. Ayrıca Klaros Kutsal Alanı, anıtsal boyutta (8 m. yüksekliğinde) kült
heykelleri, (Apollon, Artemis ve Leto) in situ bulunmuş ender kutsal alanlardan biri
konumundadır. Diğer bir özelliği ise, tapınağının krepisi (Apollon Klarios Tapınağı’nın
basamakları) dahi yazıtlı olan tek kutsal alandır.
