Botan Nehri, Kurtalan İlçesi’ne bağlı Çattepe köyü yakınında, Dicle ile birleşmektedir.
Botan Vadisi’nin bittiği, nehrin Dicle ile birleştiği alanda bulunan Çattepe Höyük bu
jeopolitik konumu nedeniyle Botan Vadisinde bulunan önemli arkeolojik yerlerden
biridir. Çattepe Höyük kazısına 2009 yılında başlanmıştır ve kazı çalışmaları halen
devam etmektedir. Höyükten ele geçen buluntular yerleşimin prehistorik dönemlerden

Located at the junction where the Botan River joins the Tigris, Çattepe Mound has an
important geopolitical position, which makes it one of the most remarkable archeological
sites located in the Botan Valley. Excavation at Çattepe Mound started in 2007 and is still
in progress. Archeological finds obtained at the mound indicated that the settlement
