Umur TÜRKER
1945 yılında Umurbey’de doğdu. Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts-Paris ve Ecde Des
Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales Paris’te eğitim gördü. 34 sergi açan sanatçı, toplam sekiz
ödül kazandı. Bu ödüller içinde en önemlileri, “1984-Devlet Resim Heykel Sergisi Resim Ödülü”
ve “1987- DYO Resim Ödülü”dür. Yaşar Üniversitesi Sanat ve Tasarım Fakültesi Grafik Bölümü
Başkanlığı yapan sanatçı, aynı fakültede Dekan Yardımcısı olarak görev yapmaktadır.
İletişimsizlik üzerine kurgulanmış resimlerinde, deyim yerindeyse“kopuş estetiğinin”sınırlarında,
iki üç figürlü kurgulanmış mekânlarda, pozlanmış duruşlarla, trajik içerikli konular yer almaktadır.
Son resimlerinde, figürler doğa içinde yer almaktadır. İnsanın doğayı parsellemesine ve yok
etmesine göndermelerde bulunmuştur. İnsanı yeniden doğaya davet etmektedir.
The artist was born in 1945 in Umurbey. He studied at Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux
Arts-Paris and Ecde Des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales Paris. The artist, who has opened 34
exhibitions, is the winner of 8 awards. The most important of these awards include “1984- State
Painting and Sculpture Exhibition-Painting Award” and “1987-DYO-Painting Award”. The artist,
who is currently the Head of Graphic Department of the Faculty of Art and Design at Yasar University,
is also the vice dean of the same faculty.
In the paintings built upon lack of communication, on the edges of “the aesthetic of disengagement”
there are subjects with the tragic content posing in places with two or three figures. In my recent
paintings, figures are located in the nature. They refer to man’s destruction of nature and invite him
back to the nature.
